Dante (Gunnar) Wadsworth

AMERICAN TRADITIONAL

Born and raised in Houston, Gunnar is a fourth-generation Tejano Mexican-American whose family roots in Texas trace back to the 1800s. An artist for as long as he can remember, Gunnar has spent his life creating through a variety of mediums, from drawing and painting to music and the natural world. Before tattooing, he worked as a machinist and studied aeronautical mechanics, experiences that shaped his respect for precision, discipline, and the working-class communities that continue to inspire him today.

Tattooing became more than a profession—it became his life's calling. Known professionally as Gunnar, a name given to him by his original mentor, he approaches every tattoo with the belief that tattoos are for the people, by the people. Whether creating a timeless traditional piece or helping a client transform an existing tattoo through a cover-up, he views tattooing as a powerful marker of personal growth and self-expression.

His work is heavily influenced by American Traditional and Japanese Traditional tattooing, as well as folklore and classic imagery. Gunnar specializes in American Traditional, Japanese Traditional, Neo-Traditional, geometric work, large-scale blackout projects, and cover-ups. He is passionate about creating tattoos built to stand the test of time while honoring the individuality of every client.

For Gunnar, tattooing is more than an art form—it's a lifelong commitment. One he plans to pursue with the same passion and dedication for the rest of his life.
